Canada opposition wants immediate confidence vote

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canada's two main opposition parties on Wednesday dismissed an offer from the minority Liberal government to hold a vote on the budget next week, saying they wanted a vote of confidence on Wednesday instead.

Both the Conservative and the separatist Bloc Quebecois parties said they would refuse to cooperate with the Liberals in Parliament unless the vote was held immediately.
